Project Quotations Specialist

As a Resource Lighting + Controls Project Quotation Specialist, your mission will be to understand the requirements and specifications of a customer’s project and price the necessary lighting and controls from our extensive linecard offerings. At times, you will partner with customers on special projects that require out-of-the box solutions, non-standard products, and controls solutions. Experience in quotations, sales, or electrical contracting is a plus.

Ability and desire to learn are essential; developing knowledge of our product offerings and new technologies is an ongoing process in this position. You’ll have ample opportunity to attend manufacturer updates, trade shows and seminars. A working knowledge of Microsoft office and the  ability to learn various quoting software is necessary. CAD and photometric software knowledge are a plus. 

Successful candidates will have excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently through a long sales cycle that requires various levels of follow-up

Key Functions:

  • Assembling a complete and competitive project bid that addresses all areas of the solicitation requirements.
  • Developing knowledge of local building codes, national or local governing agencies that regulate or create standards relating to lighting design
  • Possessing or gaining advanced understanding of lighting technology, products, specifications and their application
  • Developing and Executing a documented sales strategy
  • Targeting, creating and capturing market opportunities
  • Gaining certifications and/or credentials necessary for professional growth

 

Customer Service & Administrative Sales Support

As a representative of Resource Lighting + Controls, your professional demeanor, resourcefulness and friendly personality will allow you to successfully coordinate office activities and interact with a variety of manufacturer representatives, clients, and team members. In addition to ongoing tasks you’ll have opportunities to work on a variety of special projects with every team member and learn the industry from the ground up!

Desire and ability to learn about our products, services and processes is essential. A computer savvy, leadership minded team member with an interest in lighting design and LED technology will find career opportunities start here.

Key Functions:

  • Daily interface with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Learning various industry specific software for tracking and expediting orders and samples
  • Performing a variety of tasks requiring excellent written and communication skills
  • Managing phone system and office equipment
  • Organizing and managing product samples
  • Coordinating and managing office meetings and special events
  • Supporting sales staff on a variety of special projects as needed
